Our vision is to create a centre that will provide industry and academia with a leading facility to create, learn, invent, and innovate with timber.
The centre’s work will include
- Skills – creating the talent we need to efficiently deliver low-carbon buildings for the future at scale and using Timber, a priority for Welsh Government
- Research – supporting industry needs by answering key research questions that will enable the development of low-carbon construction products and services
- Enterprise – supporting individuals and organisations in Mid-Wales to transition to net zero, supporting spin-out of new businesses as well as further adoption of innovation within existing businesses
- Show-casing – providing a unique facility to showcase low-carbon construction materials, products and services that are offered by industry and the wider supply chain.
To build awareness of how timber can be used to deliver high-performance new-build and retrofit homes fit for a ZERO CARBON Wales, Woodknowledge Wales ran a series of online and in-person practitioner-led events.
