Wood-Ed is a virtual reality training system that enables students to experience 4 different types of machines;
- a band saw,
- rip saw,
- surface planer and
- spindle moulder
safely with no risk of injury! This helps develop knowledge and skills while building self-confidence when using real machines.
The Wood Working Machine Simulator uses mixed reality and motion sensors to allow the learner to interact with all 4 woodworking machines. Each machine has a real-life task that the learners are asked to complete which contextualizes their learning as well as allows them to practice real skills safely.
