Level 2 Award in Understanding Domestic Retrofit (UDR)
The UK retrofit sector continues to be an exciting growth area, a rarity in such uncertain economic times. The Welsh government’s commitment to building a more sustainable economy and creating jobs means there is a lot of support for this promising industry.
Candidates will be enrolled in the NOCN Level 2 Award in Understanding Domestic Retrofit. This is a nationally recognised qualification and a stepping-stone to securing employment in this rapidly growing market. Course learners will gain an understanding of what retrofit is, what retrofit achieves, and how they can have a future in retrofit. This is also an excellent upskilling opportunity for those already working in retrofit and is an important accreditation for workforces that are now required to provide a pathway to compliance with the revised PAS 2030 standard.
This course is based on the full NVQ Level 2 in Insulation and Building Treatments, Building Construction, Defects and Interfaces, and completing it will serve as a pre-qualification for the full NVQ. It will also count as proof operatives are working towards the necessary NVQ qualification and are on the pathway to PAS 2030 compliance.
The qualification features the following modules, which together cover all the fundamentals of domestic retrofit, including a module focusing on the challenges of retrofitting Welsh housing stock:
- Introduction to Domestic Retrofit
- Types of Domestic Retrofit Information
- Health and Safety
- Domestic Retrofit Resources
- Protecting Your Work Area
