Launched in 2017, SonS is a CWIC initiative designed to provide engaging \u2018live, on-site\u2019 learning opportunities for students of all ages to support classroom teaching.<\/p>\n

Objectives<\/strong><\/p>\n

    \n
  • Provide students with opportunities to develop skills on site<\/li>\n
  • Provide Q&A opportunities with contractors about the work they do<\/li>\n
  • Introduce industry to the construction workforce of the future and build relationships<\/li>\n
  • Develop sites as learning zones<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Project highlights<\/strong><\/p>\n

    Over the course of the project, we worked with 11 companies,\u00a0 9 schools and universities to deliver 15 SonS visits. These included:<\/p>\n

    • BIM & Revit (Augmented and Virtual Reality lecture) with Bouygues<\/li>\n
    • Process & Design with Morganstone<\/li>\n
    • Renovation & Adaptation of Buildings with Lewis Construction<\/li>\n
    • Planning & Management with Jehu Group<\/li>\n
    • Demolition Challenges with Wynne Construction<\/li>\n
    • Site Logistics, Drone & Laser Scanning Technologies with Kier<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>
