Offsite Ready 4 Webinars - 8, 15, 22 & 29 July

The University of Wales Trinity Saint David’s Construction Wales Innovation Centre (CWIC) are collaborating with a UK-wide network of project partners to deliver the Offsite Ready Training Programme led by the Construction Scotland innovation Centre (CS-IC). The project, funded by the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB), offers a range of free-to-access online learning resources and virtual training events to help grow best practice and skills in offsite construction.

Offsite Ready aims to develop knowledge and skills in modern methods of construction. It is also an opportunity for those delivering courses in Construction and the Built Environment in the education sector and industry to access free training in offsite construction. Offsite Ready offers 7 training modules (Offsite Fundamentals, Digital Design, Estimating/Commercial, Logistics, Offsite Manufacture, Onsite Placement & Assembly, Management & Integration).

Join us on 8 July when we host the first of 4 webinar training sessions in the company of Jasper Meade, Director of Welshpool based PYC Construction and Dr Mila Duncheva, Associate Lecturer at the Centre for Offsite Construction + Innovative Structure in Edinburgh Napier University.

Session 1 : The Fundamentals of Offsite Manufacturing
8 July @ 10.30am

In this session we’ll consider the processes involved in offsite construction, the life-cycle of offsite construction projects, markets sectors, and the advantages and challenges of the offsite construction process. We’ll hear from Jasper Meade, Director of PYC Construction about his experiences.

Session 2: Digital Design, Estimating/Commercial & Logistics
15 July @ 10.30 am

In this session we’ll take a look at the digital design tools – CAD/CAM, BIM-enabled software and digital twins. We will also be covering estimation, tendering and procurement.

Session 3: Offsite Manufacturing, Onsite Placement & Assembly
22 July @ 10.30 am

In this session we will introduce you to the key stages of the offsite manufacturing and onsite assembly processes of different offsite systems from site mobilisation to alterations and maintenance.

Session 4: Management & Integration and The Teaching Support System
29 July @ 10.30 am

In the last of our 4 webinars we’ll cover the collaborative approach needed in site management for offsite from supply chain management to quality control.
